There is an excellent just in time javascript editor JSEclipse
(http://www.interaktonline.com/Products/Eclipse/JSEclipse)
It works on eclipse framework with java 1.5+ runtime. It's somewhat
hard to configure (if you are not used to java products, setting the
default JRE etc) but it is fun to work with.

If you want to use it to edit the javascript files of your visual
studio dot net web project located on "C:\inetpub\wwroot\" follow
these steps

1. back-up Inetpub (a must)
2. point C:\inetpub as per the workspace to Eclipse.
3. run Eclipse
4. run Visual Studio dot Net.
5. Enjoy.
6. Follow the above steps at your own risk :)
