Good catch. But after some searching, this article seems to be the only 
one on this issue, and all articles (at microsoft.com, talking also 
about MSIE 6.0) seem to link to this.

http://kasimir-k.fi/urilen.php?[2100 "x" characters] gives me on Firefox 
and Opera 2112 but on MSIE 6.0 it results 2028. (the script is just: 
echo strlen($_SERVER["REQUEST_URI"]))
