Same. I haven't come up with a single reason to defy what has become the
de facto standard. 

I don't see a PDF as a 'web page' (however you define it) so as a
visitor or developer, druther see 'em open in a new window.

I agree. Include anything that is not mark-up, so .doc, .xls, .mp3, .zip,
.etc .etc .etc
