[thelist] matching fonts for web replacement

In the spirit of recent discussion regarding web fonts: is there a
resource, a list of font families, that enables one to search for a
desired web font, and to determine the web-friendly font that matches
its graphic style most closely?

I realize that CSS provides the ability to specify cascading families
of fonts to increase availability; just wondering if there's an easy
way to determine the best match.
