Hassan has explained what you need to do. However you are mis-interpreting
what you need to do.

You do not "redirect" the user to the payment gateway. As you have
discovered, this means that they have left your site and any response from
the gateway is sent to the browser.

You need to make a HTTP request (similar to what a browser does), but your
server needs to be the client. The response from the payment gateway then
comes back to your server for parsing.
