i'm willing to bet money you're not going to find anything that will  
go directly from VOB > SWF. the only use for VOB is to dump onto a  
DVD-Video disc, and it was created from something else. so, you'll  
have to go from VOB > $something(MPEG2,AVI,DV,etc) > SWF. or, if you  
can find the sources used to encode for the DVD, then you could  
likely skip that middle step.

i'm rather into ffmpeg to do that sort of batch conversion thing. i  
don't know if there's something similar for windows, but i've had  
lots of success with this GUI: http://homepage.mac.com/major4/

yeah, i like that idea too. i just got done reencoding some of my  
work and chose to use the H.264  codec on QuickTime .MOVs, but in  
this case i wanted very high picture and sound quality, and haven't  
seen FLV do anything that amazing. it is, however, very accessible  
and increasingly the default choice for generic web-ready video.
