it's a good solution, the best feature of it is bayes, there are various
rule set you can enable for different types of spam, the bayes you can have
it learn a message as spam if it misses on then it will add it to it's db
and look for more, the longer you use bayes the better the results

SpamAssassin works on a point system, it looks for various things that lead
it to believe the message is spam, for each item that meets the criteria it
added points to the message, if it meets a certain number of points it will
detect it as spam and you can have it move the message to a spam folder so
you can review them if you'd like, the number of points required to be met
to detect a message as spam can be adjusted as well so fit your needs
you can also use a whitelist and blacklist, so if you receive a message from
someone and it detects it as spam but you know the person you can add them
to your whitelist so it won't happen again regardless of the number of
points, the white list and blacklist can accept wildcards also so that can
be helpful

the messages that are detected as spam it will include a report inside that
message saying what it detected and how many points each item was so that
can help you in adjusting it as needed

hope this helps
