Very general as you don't say whether your navigation system is the
same because you're reusing the run-time instance or because you
copied the source etc...

I'd add some debug to your code around what you are doing on receipt
of the "previous page" request, and make sure everything is working as
you expect.  Particularly around your state retreival mechanism (e.g.
cookies, URI).
