The third set is a problem - statistically, 15% of the public will see 
no great difference between the two colours.

This was mentioned to me recently when I designed a site that used green 
and red alerts to semantic effect... The significance of green compared 
to red is massive in our universal visual lexicon, but nowadays we have 
to step back and realise it's... wait for it... inaccessible!
