Do not under any circumstances use the dotNet web.config wizard (that is part of IIS 6.0) to edit the web.config file for the Reporting Services Web Application.

The wizard adds an XML schema line to the opening tag that "normally" does not affect the parsing of the web.config file. But for some strange reason the schema line causes the Reporting Services web pages to barf and stop working.

Removing the schema line returns the web pages to working order.

Go figure. ;-P
