[thelist] Email: Newsletter Programs

Just to clarify one last time, I think all text newsletters suck.

You *do* need some graphics to make a newsletter look like something more
than a telegram or plain text editor print out. Plain text newsletters look
cheesy, amateur, unthought out, lazy maybe.

I love Publicity Hound, but I get newsletters that are *too plain*. But all
it is is just a link memo, so all I do is read a sentence, then click a
link.

I just caution you on making the humble, hard-working email newsletter an
attempt to deliver a web page, magazine, or TV commercial to your audience.

The debate has been invigorating, and I'm still learning about this
important topic. Thanks to those who gave links to graphics rich
newsletters. I shall sign up for them. (Patagonia, REI).

And since the marketing dept doesn't want to play nice with the IT dept -
