Trevor: It really is about Right vs. Wrong. And it doesn't matter if
"everybody's doing it" or if "big corporations are doing it". There are
proven guidelines based on user observation testing, where we actually watch
typical users struggle with a site to find info or accomplish a functional
task.

Tiny font is always Wrong. Readable text is always Right. Period.

Low contrast is always wrong. If you don't want anybody to read your words,
then, I repeat: delete the text.
