[thelist] pdfs on web site (was "scope of work" for web siteproposal)

If you expect someone to print something out - like manuals - it will look
better and be more usable in PDF.

(one could if one wanted created styled HTML that could print out something
with page numbers, but such a pursuit would either be a waste of time or a
learning experience depending on one's outlook on life)

Steven,

The pdfs are selected pages from printed brochures that elaborate on the web
site information. They are not a substitute for the html, rather a
"lagniappe."

I'm inferring from your "Er, okay" that operator manuals as pdfs aren't a
good idea? Is there a better format for printed material? Sorry if this is
a dumb question...

BTW, don't put PDF files on web sites, unless there is no other way to
convey the info. Info in a web site should be HTML. At least, have an HTML
version of what's in the PDF files.

Operator manual in PDF? Er, okay. Product literature in PDF? Why? Seems like
a really bad idea, but what is your reasoning? I hope it's not: "saves time
to just dump the data into a PDF, and let the customers look at that".
