[thelist] Web Dev Program

Don't use the designer in Visual Studio for doing design. Microsoft has other products that can help you do that stuff now.

Use Visual Studio for doing the actual programming tasks.

Visual Studio is where I'll end up. It's just so clunky setting the page up on the designer side. Dreamweaver is much easier. But I'll just have to get used to it. The upside - debugging will be easier.

Before you say Visual Studio is too expensive, if you work for a school,
have a child in school, know someone who fits either of these requirements
who would buy it for you, check this out:

You do have to prove that you have a relationship to a school, but the name
on the credit card can be anyone's, or at least it used to be like that, so
I assume it still is.

Just forget the "i wanna see my web page while programming" idea, or get
used to the ASP code blocks in DW. For ASP i would definitely suggest visual
studio, that's what it's made for! If you were to program PHP i would say:
Zend Development Environment (really really really amazing program and no i
don't have shares ;-)), or phpdesigner.

Cheers
