This is one of Joel's few disappointing articles. As far as I can tell, he's waiting for the web to look like VBScript or Win32. It probably doesn't help that his main product is written in a self-made, VBScript-devired language called Wasabi that compiles down to, well, about anything other than Ruby (which he says can't handle his performance requirements). http://www.codinghorror.com/blog/archives/000679.html Basically, he needs to get out more. -- Charles -----Original Message----- From: thelist-bounces at lists.evolt.org [mailto:thelist-bounces at lists.evolt.org] On Behalf Of Ben Joyce Sent: Thursday, October 25, 2007 1:04 AM To: thelist at lists.evolt.org Subject: [thelist] Why history will repeat itself with JavaScript and the web | Technology | The Guardian ----- 8< ----- Why history will repeat itself with JavaScript and the web As bandwidth increases, a compelling SDK should emerge that will provide developers with a standard interface for online apps ----- >8 ----- Full story here: http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology/2007/oct/25/software.it Regards, Ben
