[thelist] Microformats for scheduling

I'm going to be sending information back and forth between two 
applications. In this particular case, the information will be a 
doctor's schedule which for a day consists of time slots and information 
about the slot such as whether it is available or is filled with an 
appointment already.

I'm inclined to use an existing microformat for this data exchange if 
possible in case other outside tools might need access to the info in 
the future.

My initial inclination is to use the iCalendar format specifying the 
free/busy time. I'm open to other suggestions though.

Any thoughts on the best way to accomplish the task?
