[thelist] [Easy as Pie] Working with a Database

I'm going to have to agree with kasimir here. Developing any sort of non-trivial application isn't "easy as pie" - which is why we have so many crappy applications, and so many vulnerabilities posted to Bugtraq etc

I really think that if you want to provide some kind of "developing apps" series, you need to provide some information on application development fundamentals first. Whether that be your own writing, or something else you've already found. Architecture and design are important for non-trivial applications. Apps that just extract data from a mySQL database - well there are about a billion articles on how to do that already on the 'net.

Cheers
Ken

Yes, I agree, and I intend to make that my next post. I will also
include a blurb at the top/bottom of the post which brings that up.

I just want to get people started... maybe I shouldn't have covered
databases, which isn't really my expertise, but I had a lot of requests
for it. Aside from the blaringly obvious bad points, was the post
content acceptable?
