Godaddy is cheap and has great tech support. Their website is not intuitive
at all, and clients find it frustrating to figure out, but once you get used
to it, it is fine. If you are setting up the email accts for them, it
doesn't matter anyway.

running it on my server. So far I've looked at Godaddy's and Google's email
hosting options. Does anyone have any experiences with either of these or a
recommendation of another service that they could share?<

Jeremy,

I have several clients using Godaddy for email and haven't had an issue,
there are several options available as far as handling email such as auto
purging at a set time and some others.
