I think his question -- and mine -- are around how you sell an agile
approach to a client. It's one thing if your internal department uses
an agile approach, but I think I would have a hard time going to a
client and saying "we'll figure it out as we go, and you'll know how
much it will cost when you get our final invoice". Some unique
consulting firms do it, supposedly, but I just don't understand how.

I don't know how you can present a competitive response to an RFP with
such an approach, and I would genuinely like to hear how it would be
done.

But, as someone pointed out, this is leaving the freelance topic and
going toward a general software development topic...
