I'd be inclined to agree with Will here, good practice is that the <h1> 
would be pretty much the <title> tag. If you have the <title> tag as

<title>Company Name | Brand Phrase / Mission Statement | Title of 
page</title>

, and then:

<p><img src="" alt="Any Text that is in the image" /></p>
<h1>Title of page</h1>
