every client we have for our three businesses gets the distinct
impression that we sit around waiting for them to call or email so we
can jump on it and amaze them. they know, in their heads, that it's not
true. but we make them *feel* like they're our only client.

obviously this is not the rational and common small business approach.
yet, somehow, our businesses keep growing, we have enough financially,
we're taking on subcontractors and miraculously have time for a real
life outside work. we are deliriously happy; love our work, love our
life.

believe what you want about dealing with clients-putting them on a
pedestal and making them feel the love is the single best route to
success for a small, service-related business. I do it every day. I
teach it every day. it has given me a life I never would have believed
possible, and I'm stickin' with it.
