I've had requests to do the same, for a realtor, and on her street  
signs. I can see the value on a sign, or print media. Allows you to  
encode crazy long urls, etc, but I don't perceive the value of putting  
it on the website itself, that what those funny things called "URLs"  
are for. My guess? It's another one of those things that fearful  
clients buy from marketers. "Get on the bandwagon or go broke!".

I've got a really great track record for seeing value in web trends.  
But then again, I completely flopped on Twitter, figuring it would  
never go anywhere, so make my two cents with a grain of salt and call  
me in the morning.
