(Someone may have mentioned this already, but) The best book I've read about parenthood is Anne Lamott's "Operating Instructions: A journal of my son's first year." http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/044990928X/o/qid=986827049/sr=2-1/104 -9620439-1531920 It's hilarious and touching and wonderful. I laughed, I cried. I read all of her other books. You guys must read it. I also really liked "Expecting Adam: A True Story of Birth, Rebirth, and Everyday Magic" by Martha Beck http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0425174484/qid=986827177/sr=1-1/ref=s c_b_2/104-9620439-1531920 Also: "The Lunch-Box Chronicles: Notes from the Parenting Underground" by Marion Winik. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0375701702/qid=986827238/sr=1-1/ref=s c_b_2/104-9620439-1531920 Emily
