I think it's also a numbers game.  Any sufficiently large group of anything
... priests, politicians, web-designers  :-)  ... is (statistically) gonna
have 'good' and 'bad' apples.

FWIW, I've run into Catholic priests who have said "I don't care what THE
CHURCH allows - you're not gonna do that here!"  [They were making a fairly
arbitrary "house rule" that even  divorced individuals *with* annulments
were not going to be married in THEIR church... even though "the Catholic
church" says it's okay... which is kinda the whole point of the annulment
process, actually.]
