"2 - Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image or any likeness of any
thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath or that is
in the earth beneath or that is in the water under the earth"


in simpler terms, isn't this a commandment saying that no one should create
any image/sculpture/whatever of an angel, jesus, god, any saints, any
underground creatures, etc?

i find that hard to believe, considering the prevalence of such imagery in
churchs and religious works of art. have i read this commandment
incorrectly?
