So, having got very jealous at the speed of
1) Seth's baby
2) evoltageddon
pics appearing online, I've decided to join the digital
camera revolution in advance of our own arrival in August.

Thanks Isaac's posting of a couple of review sites last
November, I've found my baby: the Sony DSC-P1.

Not only does it do pretty good quality pics, and movies,
and USB connectivity, and Memory Stick to drop into my
Vaio, BUT you can buy a marine housing (good to 30m)
so I can do diving shots!

The marine housing is $250 - film underwater cameras
are priced about the same as digital cameras (Crap for
$300, reasonably good for $600, SLR at $1.5k+), so this
is a *bargain* if you've already got the DSC.

All I need now is the money...

Anyone know of any national US chains where I can check a
normal US retail price? If I'm over in time, I'll try to pick one up
there.
