Hi Joe,

Sensible! Sounds like a "compute the centroid" kind of thing to me.

We could "weight" the results by the number of participants in a particular
area.... and the cost of travel.

Example ... if you have one person at "zero" and another at "one" ... the
midpoint would be "one-half" ... but if you have one person at "zero" and
two folks at "one" ... then the weighted midpoint would be "two-thirds".

Hmmm ... we'll need headcounts, cities of residence, on-line airfare rates,
alternative travel rates/times [eurorail?], weather links (might not want to
meet in Thailand during monsoon), a map, a crayola crayon {we'll let our
'designers' select an appropriate colour}, several fresh springrolls, ...
and an uncountable number of pints.

.... and to borrow from a prior thread .... "a towel".

:-)

RonL.

say you have n number of people (where n>4) all over a country / world
-- who all want to meet up -- would there be a way to get the optimal
(read: cheap) place/time for them to meet?

this is kind of a logistics thing.
