My problem is that game steering wheels never give me enough resistance, if 
any at all.  I tried Midtown Madness at CompUSA and I couldn't control it 
with the steering wheel

Analog joysticks suck the most (especially when games make you use it like 
on the Dreamcast).  I'll take the D-pad any day, tapping my way to victory. :)
