First of all, Shrek *was* great. I slept through the last 2 pokemon movies, 
but I was really happy with Shrek. All of us (32, 30, 7, 5) laughed like 
crazy.

Second, the first scary movie I ever saw was the original black-and-
white "Night of the Living Dead". My friend and I were about 10 or 11 and 
we saw it in the basement of the local public library with about 10 other 
people. Scared the pee out of me for years. 

The only really scary book I ever read was "Salem's Lot" by Stephen King; I 
read it about a year later. Hoo-boy. I was sleepless for several nights 
after reading about the vampires. Especially the little boy's friend who 
comes floating outside his window to get him. Yeesh!
