The scariest story I ever read was by Theodore Sturgeon. It was a
collection of short stories called E Pluribus Unicorn and it featured this
teddy bear that feed off of the dreams of a little boy. The story was
called "The Professors Teddy Bear". There was one part where the teddy bear
was whispering into the boys ear about having good dreams while blood was
gurgling at its mouth. Really, really creepy.

There was also another story (called Bianca's Hands) about this peasant
girl who was very beautiful, but basically brain dead except for o her
hands which had a life of they're own. More creepy stuff.
