It's a lamp which has a star-shaped shade. The shade isn't
flush to the wall, so a starshaped light comes out of the side.
It's blue, but has wee holes in it, which create a pattern on the walls
and (more obviously) on the ceiling.

We also have a yellow (yeah, go figure. I call it a banana and a sun
at random) moon on the other wall by the radiator which is similar except
for the holes.

Yeah, just tired, uncomfortable and (understandably) grumpy

Yup, and her brother and nephew.

If we had the time and skill to do this for lions, tigers and giraffes (oh
my!),
we'd probably do something similar. But we don't have either, which is
a shame. We *do* have quite a bit of Kenyan carving and painting, though,
from this trip:
