Absolutely.

I have little problem with the moral instincts of the average American
when allowed to develop without media or political control.

But consent is manufactured in what is one of the most indoctrinated,
depoliticised countries in the industrial world.

And it's the same here - the media and certain 'mainstream' political
parties have been whipping up a racist frenzy about asylum seekers,
implanting a notion that all asylum seekers are bogus fraudsters.

(Australia seems to be the same btw)

Result - last night there were attacks on Afghan asylum seekers in
'revenge' for yesterday, despite the fact that these were people
who'd fled oppression at the hands of the Taliban.

Stupid racist fuckers.
