[thechat] It could have been prevented

Hot news of Germany,
A man of Iranian nationality who was refused refugee status
and waited for him being flewn out of Germany, as I understood
it (it is very early here), anyway, he kept telling anyone at police and
jail about the coming event.

He was so persisting about it, that the authorities thought he was just
a bigmouth.
He still was able to get them to give him a phone, after he showed
he had the numbers of White House and Secret Service learned by heart.

He told the agency his story and when he mentioned he is in prison
they just cut the line, proably thinking he is a joker.

When weekend approached, it is reported he got more and more nervous
and demanded to be able to send a fax to the White House, but he
was refused.

Mind you, it is not that you can "wish" things in a "Abschiebegefängnis",
where people are in jail without having commited a crime.

Now he is listened too.
This explains the first arrestments, proably, here in Europe and elsewhere.

How must it feel when you know about a terrible thing to happen and
you try anything to prevent it while noone believes you?
