For those unaware, the "Crusades" were a series of wars fought in the Middle Ages after Christian armies traveled to Palestine, or what is now Israel, to attack the Muslim armies that controlled Jerusalem.

The word "crusade" is used commonly in the United States, and does not have much of a religious context.

Not sure if you're aware that the term "crusade" was used inavertently or not. When he used it, Dubyah had no clue of the negative connotations and the historical significance of the word. Since then he has had to do some major backpedaling to clear up the misunderstanding.

> Sounds pretty fucking holy to me...

The problem being, that the quote is now out there, and people will continue to use it out of it's intended context, intentionally or otherwise.

For the record, Dubyah is now holding daily "watch-word" meetings with his advisors.. :)

Regards,

Seth
