As many problems as WebTV (now MSNTV) has, this sort of thing
makes me think that thin clients are in our future. It just needs some
good ASPs out there, and for broadband to become available
everywhere.

It eliminates the *need* for expensive, delicate laptops that cannot be
upgraded, have to be lugged around, and are easily forgotten or
stolen. No hassles in airports, no batteries going dead when you
most need the thing. Instead, you log on with whatever's handy
where you happen to be. You *always* have *all* your files, because
they are online, you *always* have the latest software version
because it resides on a website where it automatically gets updated
for everyone at once, backups are handled for you automatically.

And because the web is OS-agnostic, you can switch from Windows
to Mac to Linux fifteen times a day if the mood strikes you.
