Ah, now that's an interesting possibility. I just read Hugh's try with the
USB connector idea, so I think I'll try that first.

Well, I just looked at it again. There are 5 or 6 slots used up and in this
order from top to bottom --

Monitor
DVD/CDRom-burner
Sound card/woofer stuff
Video/TV
Modem
SCSI card (for the scanner)

There's a blank spot at the top but when I open up the back there's no slot
to stick in the network card. Goofy. Oh well.

<chuckle> Ah, well, yes, I'm sure I could try all kinds of things. Well, I
think I'll go for what looks like the easiest and fastest remedy for the
moment, which looks like the USB adapter. If that doesn't do a great job,
then I'll consider these other options, too.
