I saw Michael Moore speak here at L&C a few weeks ago. Man, that guy
has some amazing stories; I found him inspiring as hell.

Anyway, he mentioned interesting things, including the close business
relationships over the years between the Bush/Cheney oil people and
the Bin Laden oil people.

Also Osama's dialysis (which Osama denies) and how it was not widely
reported in the press (it's pretty available on the net, but nothing
conclusive)

Also, Moore questioned why he would have to take off his shoes to get
on the plane, but why was he allowed to bring matches and lighters on
board with him?

He said while in DC area a congressional aide came up after his talk
and told him that originally, lighters and matches were banned but
that the tobacco lobby put a stop to that one...

Anyway, Michael Moore rocks. The student body at L&C brought him here.

Moore's book "Stupid White Men" was almost "pulped" as it was printed
on September 10 and the press decided people couldn't criticize
America anymore after 9/11. (blagh!)

It was a grassroots effort, mainly pushed by librarians, over the
Internet, to pressure the publishing co to put the book out. The
company didn't think it would do well, because it was critical of US
leadership.

In fact, it went quickly to the top of the best seller lists, and
it's now in it's 15th printing.

Moore's speech at L&C was sold out, with approximately 3,000 people
attending, others standing outside the doors. He said that every
speaking engagement he's had has had the same results.
