My lawyer friend said that the ruling has no impact outside of the 9th
circuit. Of course the 9th circuit is huge - covers the entire western
U.S., and their opinions are well respected. I'm curious to see if the
issue get's raised in other circuits . . . (it would have to in order to get
to the supreme court).

While I may bitch (brag?) about the heat in some parts of India, not all
parts of India are. The northern states are near the Himalayas (literal
translation = "home of snow") so it gets quite cold. I've been to a place
called Rohtang Pass that was 13500 feet above sea level. Brrrr...
(Note: it's pronounced "himaa-layaas", not "him-uh-layers" as westerners
often do ;)
