This is a note sent out to all staff in a friend's (quite large) office.

One or two staff have been putting in requests for longer blind cords to
the Facilities HelpDesk and as a result I have been asked to give you an
explanation as to why they are the length they are:

"The blind cords were reduced in length so that the blinds could not be
  pulled up.
  It obviously hasn't worked as the more determined of you have managed to
  pull several up to various heights, making the office space look unkempt.
  Premises are currently in dicussion with the blind installer to have
  clips
  fitted so that the blinds remain in a down position at all times with the
  opportunity to tilt the sashes only."

I should point that this is not my employer *looks round at blinds in
various states* no, <em>definitely</em> not my employer.
