And, ultimately, NGE is not a show designed for an American's temperament
and the ending reflects that completely.

Additionally, they would have to edit a *whole* lot for an American basic
cable TV release.  It's not a series for the squeamish.  And then, there's
the movies...yikes.

Alas, it does all too well.  But I do have to give credit to Cartoon
Network for broadcasting some deeper and more interesting titles during the
Adult Swim anime block.

Don't forget Speed Racer and the original Transformers.

Ahhh.  *sniffle*  I'm getting nostalgic.  I just recently bought the box
sets for the original Bubblegum Crisis and for Record of Lodoss War.
