% One of the possible morals to this story is that you shouldn't be
% racist if
% you like a good meal. German cuisine is mostly awful.

Especially amusing given that one of the most
popular recent additions to 'native' cuisine
is the Currywurst...

And of course the UK can boast both a) that
a well-known opinion poll cast a Tandoori dish
as the most well-loved meal in the country bar
none, and b) that the Balti (which I understand
has now become very popular overseas) originated
in Birmingham.

I mean, I much prefer the closest thing we have
here to 'real' Indian food - there are quite a few
brilliant veggie-only Bhel Poori houses in London,
including the one at the bottom of my street which
has a Michelin star. Mayor Ken's favorite restaurant,
apparently: he was our local MP until recently
and brags about the place in the Evening Standard
on a regular basis :-)

Bizzarre that one of the most important drivers of
multiculturalism in Europe is food. But then again,
it's also the most visible interface between people
of differing racial backgrounds. I'm not much bothered
about the means, so long as we get the ends...
