Despite of it's name the Currywurst -which chancellor Schroder loves to eat
in public, since it shows that He is a simple man who shares the burdens of
his subjects - isn't Indian oder foreign at all. It is a sliced pork sausage
drowned in cheap ketchup sprinkled with a brown, tasteless powder which is
sold under the misleading name of "curry", hence the name of the whole
thing.
The best (if you like the stuff) Currywurst is sold at "Konopkes" in Berlin
(that's five minutes from my doorstep), where it was allegedly invented by
Herta Heuwer in 1949. Currywurst is usally consumend together with large
quantities of beer, and german beer is a whole different matter since it is
finally a thing the Germans got right.
