yep, there's still a communist party... it's dropped off in
membership since the fall of the soviet union, but it still exists...

gus hall (if i remember his name correctly) ran as the presidential
candidate on that ticket forever (i think he's dead now)...

there are a *lot* of parties, but they don't show up on the ballots
unless they have a certain number of signatures/supporters...
