This cracks me up.  The stories have been out there in the literature for
decades.  Be aware that people talk about the movies AND the books.  Lots of
geeks and so on have been engrossed in the books for a long time, which is
probably why they ended up making it into a movie.  The idea that the movie
somehow transcends the book and should make talking about topics in the book
moot is hilarious.

Would you get upset if people talked about the ending of Hamlet?  Robin
Hood?  The Right Stuff?

There are guys at my work who won't read the books now because it will
"spoil the movie"...
