Not a macho bullshit kind of guy, and all IMO, but steak is best when
just introduced to the pan (hello steak, say hello to mr pan!... ooh
thats enough!)

But then again, its all IMHO so everyone is entitled to their own
opinions, but its just that most of the steak fans I know like it rare,
or at least medium rare.
If steak is just a dish that you enjoy then its OK, but at the end of
the day there are people whe enjoy steak, and people who *enjoy* steak!
Subtle difference, but hey I'm currently fairly drunk!
