So you're saying that power supplies don't fail round your way from regular
things such as problem at manufacturing, accruement of dust, failure of
parts due to wear and tear, etc.  I've lost a power supply in a server due
to severe buildup of dust in the fan section (same with a case fan in
another machine), so I'd hardly rule out your PSU without so much as a
cursory glance.
