It was work for hire. You don't have a "right" to advertise it, since all 
rights to that code now belong to the person you worked for.

I don't mean to sound cold; just pointing out fact. It is always preferable 
to include a clause in your work contract that permits displaying your work 
as part of your portfolio.

You do have an official contract, do you not?
