There have been ongoing protests and requests to stop sanctions, but 
you are right, they have been quieter.

This btw was one big issue I had with mainstream democratic 
candidates.  I believe they were all firmly on the Iraq economic 
sanctions and cuba embargo bandwagons. etc.

It seems like the UN has structural problems.  What's with this whole 
veto thing, anyway?
