[thechat] My State of Union Address

dear fellow chat members,

it saddens me to read thechat these days and even though it has somewhat
cooled down I feel the need to address you with some of my feelings on the
matter.

It has been a great journey this evolt thing during the years. We are a
passionate people, most of whom have strong opinion on most things, one way
or another, and we have argued about those things here (specially on Atkins
;)
over the period of two years.

We are people of great intellect, respect and compassion for each other -
or so I thought - until I sat down earlier today to catch up on thechat for
the past 48 hrs.

War is a passionate thing. It provokes the strongest feelings in every
person, however said person feels about that war. It has been known to
divide best friends and neighbours, turning them against each other as
enemies, even going as far as them killing one another.

But we're above that.

Let us resume to our former ways, let's start another Atkins debate, lets
discuss how and where we are meeting up this summer, let's tell each other
about our great victories in our personal lives, but let us not use words
as "vile" or "out of your mind" to name but a few of those that have flown
around here lately.

I love the lot of you, respect all of you and enjoy your mail, enjoy the
privilege of being welcomed into your personal lives times and times again.
So here I am, waiting to feel welcome again.
