ooh-ooh i used to have a 1960's musicman bass amp. tube amp with a dual 15"
cabinet, combined with a RAT pedal, it was the most killer guitar amp ever.
it turned a 13-year-old whiteboy into jimi hendrix overnight.

then it detonated in my friend's garage.
lightning shot out the back, smoke, fire--it was a sad sad day.

i remember being most annoyed that it didn't explode on a gig, that would
have been WAY too cool.

but yah, real tubes--there is no substitute.
